It is important to inform as many people in America as to the truth about the TPP. Write a letter to the editor or an op-ed piece. Share links on social media. Call into the news stations and ask them to cover the TPP. Talk to your co-workers. Spread the word in anyway you can. We have created a few sample letters for you to use or you can create your own.
Another so called free trade agreement is coming up for a vote in Congress. Have you even heard about it? It is called the Trans Pacific Partnership Agreement or the TPP for short. One things for sure, it will mean more of our jobs are going overseas. Carrier air conditioners just announced they are moving their plant to Mexico….another 1500 jobs leaving America. Is your job going to be next? How does that saying go…fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. When are you going to wake up America? How many more of these free trade agreements is it going to take? How many more jobs are you going to let get shipped overseas before you say enough is enough? Do something. Call you Senator. Call your Congressmen. Call your President. Tell them to vote no on the TPP.
How many of you remember when Obama was running for President in 2008? I sure do. One of the reasons I voted for him was because of the promises he made. Remember when he told us over and over again that if he was elected President, one of the first things he was going to do was to contact the president of Canada and the President of Mexico and he was going to sit down and renegotiate NAFTA. He was going to fix the many labor and environmental problems associated with the Agreement. It’s been 7 years now and nothing has been done. Now he is trying to get Congress to pass the Trans Pacific Partnership Agreement or the TPP for short. The TPP is far worse than NAFTA ever was. It will allow millions more of our jobs to be shipped overseas. I would urge anyone reading this to find out as much as they can about the TPP, then call your members of Congress and tell them to vote no before it is too late.
Can someone please explain to me how the United States Congress is about to vote on the largest free trade agreement in the history of the world and our so called news media is somehow missing in action. Have you ever heard of the Trans Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPP)? Odds are that no you haven’t. And why should you. 5 multinational corporations now own and control 90 percent of all the news media in this country. That’s right. Nearly every television show, radio how, or newsprint article you come across is controlled by just 5 corporations. You may think you have choice when it comes to selecting how you get your news and you may think you are getting access to alternative views, but in reality not so much. The same multinational corporations who control your news also want the TPP to pass because their subsidiaries stand to make billions of dollars in profits. This is why you haven’t heard about the TPP in the so called news. Look it up, research the TPP on the internet and then call your representative. Tell them to vote no on the TPP before millions more of our jobs are shipped overseas.
It’s been 40 years since free trade was introduced into America. Since then China has receive Most Favored Nation (MFN) status. The World Trade Organization (WTO) was created. Free Trade Agreements (FTA) like NAFTA, CAFTA, and KORUS have been implemented. Tariffs and other trade barriers have been eliminated allowing other countries unlimited access to our markets. Every step of the way our leaders have told us that manufacturing jobs no longer mattered, Information and technology jobs were going to lead us into the 21st century. After 40 years let’s take a look at what “Free Trade” has done to America. In the last 40 years well over 60,000 factories have closed down in America and moved overseas. Millions of good paying jobs gone. Our tax base from the loss of all of those jobs and business closures is gone which has taken it’s toll on our schools and our infrastructure. Congress is about to vote on another such FTA; it is called the Trans pacific Partnership Agreement or the TPP for short. Call your Representative. Tell them to vote no on the TPP before it is too late.
